Constitutional bench to deal with petition against impeachment motion

Supreme CourtKathmandu / July 13: The hearing of the writ petition filed against the impeachment motion registered in the Parliament against the then chief Justice Sushila Karki, will take place in constitutional bench of the Supreme Court.

According to SC spokesperson Mahendra Nath Upadhyay, a joint bench of the acting Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli and Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut decided to send the writ petition to the constitutional bench for hearing.

Lawyer Sunil Ranjan Singh had filed the petition at the SC, after 249 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) registered the impeachment motion against the then CJ Karki. RSS
