Increasing investment govt’s priority: PM Deuba

Sher Bahadur DeuwaKathmandu / Aug 3: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday said increasing investment both domestic and foreign has been the priority of the government.

Claiming that the country’s economy has an encouraging prospect, PM Deuba said other priorities include increasing gross domestic product and creating employment opportunities.

The PM was inaugurating the 2nd Nepal Responsible Business Summit organised by the National Business Initiative in the Capital.

Informing that some of laws have already been amended and the process was on to amend others, PM Deuba said, “Our efforts are on to clear administrative and legal hurdles, which ultimately will help investors in many ways.”

Pointing out that private sector be made efficient enough for overall development of the country, the PM viewed that problems surfaced in private sector could not be resolved overnight. “And for that laws and rules are not enough too. Businesspersons should also abide by self-rules and regulations themselves.”

He also informed that required preparations were afoot for the elections at provincial and federal level, and that the Constituency Delimitation Commission has begun its task.

The two-day Summit has been attended by scores of businesspersons, experts in different subjects and researchers from various countries including Nepal, India, China and Singapore. RSS
