People-to-people ties be reflected at government level: Mahara

Krishna-Bahadur-MaharaKathmandu / Sept 3 : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara today said that people-to-people ties existing between Nepal and India should be reflected in government-to-government level as well.

Speaking in a programme organised by the Nepal-India Women Friendship Society in the Capital today, DPM Mahara further opined for strengthening such age-old ties.

Mahara also added that the ties at the government level might be fluctuated but people-to-people ties cannot swing.

He further opined for changing perspective between two countries as time has changed a lot and India is not in the era of British and Nepal is not also in the era of monarchy. “Therefore, bilateral perspectives should be updated.”

On the occasion, Mahara praised the Indian support to Nepal in the health, education, and developmental sectors. RSS
