Ticket bookings for Dashain to open from Sept 12

Kathmandu / Sept. 9: Advanced bookings of bus tickets for the upcoming Dashain festival is scheduled to be opened from Tuesday (September 12) after government agreed to meet the demands of the transport entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs had demanded to hike fare and allow carrying of passengers and loads on the buses roofs to open the ticket booking. Department of Transport (DoT) had urged the entrepreneurs to open the bookings on September 7 but they refused until their demands were met.

A meeting of the DoT officials and transport entrepreneurs on Saturday agreed to open the booking on Tuesday.

According to DoTIM estimate, as many as 2.5 million people are set to leave the Valley to celebrate the festival this year.
