Home Minister seeks rehabilitation of flood displaced by six months

janardan-sharmaKathmandu / Sept. 13: Home Minister Janardan Sharma has directed the subordinate bodies to formulate plans making sure the construction of new houses in the recent flood-affected areas by the next six months.

Speaking today at a meeting of the Central Disaster Rescue Committee at the Home Ministry, the Home Minister instructed this. “Collect details of the flood-displaced and make plans in such a way so that their rehabilitation can be guaranteed by the maxims six months,” he directed subordinate officials.

He was of the view of pre-planning to respond untoward water induced disaster in the next monsoon.

The meeting agreed to distribute two bundles of iron sheets to replace the roofs of thatched houses in the flood-hit areas.

It has also decided to award organization contributing significantly during the rescue and relief works at time of disaster.

In the meeting, secretaries from ministries concerned presented the details of losses caused by the flood in respective sectors. RSS
