Over 5,000 police personnel to be deployed in Valley for Dashain

Metropolition Police Crime SectionKathmandu / Sept. 20: Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Kathmandu, has decided to deploy 5,437 personnel in Kathmandu Valley for Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.

The office has decided to deploy the security personnel to curb theft, robbery and human trafficking, among other criminal activities.

During a press conference organised in the Capital on Wednesday, AIG Jaya Bahadur Chand said that security has been managed in such a way that police personnel will reach the incident site within five minutes of incident.

He said that special security has been put in place at bus parks, hotels and entry and exit points of the Valley.

AIG Chand said that plain-clothed police personnel will be also deployed to help passengers from being cheated and the people will also helped through Nepal Police help desks.

He also urged one and all to dial 100 if anyone is found involved in black markeetring, gambling, driving under the influence, disturbing peace and engaging in gang fights.
