Govt to bring special package for natural disaster survivors

government logoKathmandu / Nov 6: The government has proposed a special package targeting the floods and landslides survivors that hit different parts of the country four months ago.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singhadurbar today decided to bring a special package for the relief of those affected by recent incidents of natural disaster particularly in the Terai region.

“The Ministry of Finance will unveil the special package as soon as possible,” said Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki while talking to media after the meeting.

Likewise, the meeting has also formed a talk team to negotiate with the Asian Development Bank on an agreement on receiving 100 million dollar loan assistance for the implementation of the proposed Rural Connectivity Improvement Project.

Minister Karki further said that the proposed project was capable of ensuring market access to agro products by upgrading 388 kilometres of rural roadways in 16 districts.

Meanwhile, the meeting has appointed Binod KC as the Defence Secretary. RSS
