U-19 Asia Cup: Nepal loses to Bangladesh by 2 wickets

Cricket groundKathmandu / Nov 11: Nepal has lost to Bangladesh by two wickets in their first match of the U-19 Asia Cup held at Kinrara Academy Oval, Malaysia on Saturday.

Bangladesh defeated Nepal with 2 wickets under the D/L method that was adopted after the rain disturbed the game.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal made 167 runs losing 8 wickets in 40.1 overs. Aarif Sheikh hit 30 runs, Rohit Paudel made 40 runs and Bhim Sharki contributed 44 runs.

Bangladesh received 181 runs target under the D/L Method after the rain disrupted

N. Sheikh top-scored with 52 runs, while Afif Hossain Dhrubo contributed 33 runs for Bangladesh.

Similarly, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Kamal Singh took 2 wickets each while Anil Singh, Dependra Singh Airee and Kishor Mahato grabbed one wicket each for Nepal.

Earlier, Nepal had made 70 runs losing 4 wickets. Rohit Kumar and Bhim Sarki shared a 79-run partnership until Nepal lost 5th wicket.
