Naulin Sports Villa opens International Tennis Court in Kathmandu

Sports VillaKathmandu / Nov 11: At a time when public of Kathmandu Valley have been facing problem of open space for physical exercise, an international tennis court has opened in Kathmandu valley.

Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa, who is also a national player of Tennis, inaugurated the International Tennis Court opened by Naulin Sports Villa. The Court situated in Budanilkantha Municipality-8, Sundarbasti, is equipped with international level playground and other necessary infrastructure.

Deputy Prime Minister Thapa inaugurated the venue by playing tennis match with Manoj Rana. Thapa lauded the role of Naulin Sports Villa for promoting sports infrastructure in the valley from private sector. He added that this will promote healthy living in the society. “You could have earned more money by doing other business but you opted the venture which is not very profitable. However it is your contribution to the society,” he added.

Sports Villa OpeningSpeaking at the opening program Managing Director of the villa Kishor Thapa informed that he had decided to open the tennis court as he realized that there was lack of quality playing space in Kathmandu valley. He added that he has decided to go for this venture with the objective of creating healthy society rather than making income. He added that he is in the process of adding more sports activities in the area. He also announced special discount for journalists, local people and students.

The opening program was attended by leaders of different political parties, 90-year-old Hem Lama, who brought tennis in the country, senior cardiologist Dr. Bhagawan Koirala among others.

The villa also felicitated Ram Bahadur Tamang, who has been supporting to prepare tennis court across Nepal. The court was prepared with investment of over 12.5 million rupees.
