Nepal lose to Afghanistan by 7-wicket in ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup

CricketKathmandu / Nov 17 : Nepal’s loosing streak against arch-rival Afghanistan continued as they succumbed to 7-wicket defeat in ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup semi-finals played at the Kinrara Oval in Malaysia, on Friday.

Afghanistan won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first to exploit the early seam and bounce movement in a seamers friendly pitch.

Nepal managed to muster 103 runs all out inside 29 overs of their allotted 50 overs game. Anil Sah played a lone hand in defying Afghani bowlers as he accumulated 50 runs where as other petered out cheaply in Nepal’s innings.

Afghanistan’s UrRahman was pick of the bowlers as he ripped Nepali bating line-up with 6 scalps for just 28 runs.

Afghanistan achieved the modest total with seven wickets in hand in 21th overs. Afghani batsman Gurbaz smashed 71 runs to laid a foundation for a victory to his team.

Today’s winning team Afghanistan will play against Pakistan at the Kinarara Oval for the ultimate title of the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup on Sunday.
