Construction of main tunnel of Upper Tamakoshi Hydel Project completed

Dolakha / Nov 19:The construction works of main tunnel of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectricity Project has been completed this morning.

High level officials including Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyaya and Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director Kulman Ghising witnessed the completion of the construction works.

The project has made a 92 per cent progress with the construction of the 8.5 kilometres long tunnel. The 456-megawatt project would be completed next year.

Digging of two vertical tunnels, the most difficult works of the project was already completed on September 16.

According to the project, 90 per cent of the headwork construction and 99 per cent works on the construction of underground power house has been done so far. RSS
