CPN (MC) agrees to form new govt under unified party leadership; UML decides on KP Oli’s name for the next PM

Maoist Centre Party OfficeKathmandu / Feb 14: CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to form a government after the unification with CPN-UML. The meeting of the party held at the party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence Khumaltar on Wednesday afternoon has decided to form the new government as a single party rather representing two different parties, according to party leader Dina Nath Sharma.

The party has also decided to take the leadership of the party and the government on a rotation basis. The party leaders have also agreed on the name of the unified party as Nepal Communist Party.

The meeting has also decided to form a committee to operate after the unification. The committee will be assigned to work on party’s structure and statute. Likewise, the party has decided to form a task force to assign responsibilities to leaders from both the parties.

The meeting of the party unification coordination committee is underway. According to a source, the committee is likely to form two task forces.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML has decided to recommend the name of the party chairperson KP Sharma Oli as the next Prime Minister of the country.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting has decided to put forth the name of its party Chair KP Sharma Oli for the next Prime Ministerial election.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to officially claim formation of the new government with support from CPN Maoist Centre.

The process of appointment of Prime Minister would begin after the Election Commission would submit the final results of House of Representatives election under the Proportional Representation to the President.

CPN-UML, with the support of CPN Maoist Centre, has emerged as the largest party after garnering majority in the three-tier elections.
