Prez summons federal parliament meeting for March 5

President VisitKathmandu / Feb 19 : President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned the first meeting of the federal parliament for March 5, after over two months following the conclusion of the House of Representative election.

The head-of-the-state on the recommendation of Prime Minister as per Article 93 (1) of the Constitution has summoned the meeting of federal parliament at the International Convention Centre in New Baneshwor at 4 pm Monday.

The House of Representative election held on November 26 and December 7 had elected 275 federal Parliament members—165 seats were directly elected and 110 were allocated to parties based on proportional representation.

Three members of the 59-member strong National Assembly, including a woman, will be nominated by the President on the recommendation of the government.
