Awareness programme of welfare of migrant workers held in Malaysia

Labor, Foreign EmploymentKathmandu / Feb 21: An awareness programme relating to the welfare of Nepali migrant workers has been held at Johor Bahru in Malaysia.

At the event organised by the Nepali embassy in Kuala Lumpur, the Nepali migrant workers were informed of their welfare and services and perks provided by various concerned agencies like the Department of Foreign Employment, the Foreign Employment Promotion Board and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

They also inquired with the officials of Nepal government about rescue operation, compensation in case of accidental death and safety precautions, said the Nepali embassy.

On the occasion, Charge d’affaires at the Nepali embassy Sudhir Bhattarai urged the Nepali migrant workers to avoid any activity that violates the law of Malaysia. RSS
