Coordination committee to begin preparation for party unification

Communist Party FlagKathmandu / Apr 5: A meeting of the CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre party merger coordination committee held today at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar has decided to make preparations for announcement of party unification on April 22.

The meeting also initiated discussions on the proposals on organisational and ideological taskforces presented in the committee meeting on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Committee member and CPN Maoist Centre leader Narayankaji Shrestha said that remaining issues would be sorted out soon, through a meeting, after Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli returns from India.

Shrestha informed that an understanding has been reached to start preparations from both the parties for party unification announcement, acting on the recommendations of both taskforces.

The CPN-UML has called its central committee meeting for April 20 for party unification preparations.

Both the taskforces have suggested announcing party unification on April 22, the establishment day of Nepal Communist Party.RSS
