Compulsory Education Act within five months: Minister Pokhrel

Education Minister PokharelBirgunj / Apr. 19: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel has said a Compulsory Education Act would be brought within five months, thereby ensuring 70 percent of curriculum on technical education and limiting the general education to 30 percent.

So far, there is only 7 percent of technical education in the existing curricula, he argued.

Inaugurating the school enrollment campaign in Siraha district today, Minister Pokhrel said children’s schooling is linked to country’s future, so any act of irresponsibility on the part of teachers won’t be spared, he warned.

The 2028 education policy comes to an end soon, he said, informing that the school enrollment campaign would be launched in all districts of Province 2.

As per the campaign, the Minister enrolled 15 students at a local Nepal National Vidyapeeth Secondary School from Birgunj Metropolis-11. RSS
