Supreme Court orders demolishing illegal structures around Fewa Lake

Kathmandu / Apr 29: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered to demolish the illegal structures around Fewa Lake on Sunday.

A joint bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla and Justice Om Prakash Mishra ordered to demolish the illegal structures around the Fewa Lake. Structures built legally around the Lake will be compensated before demolishing them and those built illegally will be torn down without compensation. The SC has also ordered to make necessary preparations to declare the Fewa Lake a World Heritage Site.

The SC has ordered the government to form a high-level probe committee and submit the report of the case within two months.
