Case filed against 63 individuals including 7 police officials
Biratnagar / May 2: A case has been registered at Morang District Court against 63 individuals including seven police officials involved in smuggling 33 kg gold and the murder of Sanam Shakya today.
The accused will be charged on three counts of crime – kidnapping, attempt to murder and organized crime, according to Arun Kumar BC, Superintendent and chief of District Police Office, Morang.
BC added the case has registered against absconding mastermind Chuda Mani Upreti alias Gore along with 34 others.
The District Police Office said that the case filed against seven former police officials, three businesspersons, six murder-accused of Sanam Shakya and 13 airport officials and others who are at large.
The police case filed against the following:
Organized Crime: Former DIG Govinda Niraula, SSP Dibesh Lohani, SP Bikas Raj Khanal, DSP Prajit KC and Sanjit Raut, sub-inspector Bal Krishna Sanjel, Constable Bishnu Bahadur Khadka.
Airport officials: Lal Bahadur Magar, Doram Khatri, Raju Maharjan, Kapil Raj Puri, Gopal Shrestha, Punya Lama, Rajan Thapa, Hemanta Gauchan, Birendra Man Shrestha, Amar Dangol, Tularam Tharu, Sambir Tolange, Bal Krishna Shrestha.
Businessperson: Rajendra Man Shakya, Mahabir Golyan, and RPP leader Bhujung Gurung
Organized Crime and Attempt to Murder: Mohan Ghimire (Madhav), Ekraj Malla, Narendra Karki, Mohan Karki, Lakpa Sherpa for the killing of Sanam Shakya.
