Public transportation service resumes

Public TransportKathmandu / May 5: The public transport entrepreneurs who halted their service on Friday in protest against the government’s decision resumed their service on Saturday.

They are protesting against the government’s decision to transform all public transport associations into companies, thereby ending the existing syndicate in the transport sector of the country.

Public transportation had come to a halt across the nation on Friday, with only a few buses available for the public.

Coming out strong against the protesters, the government instead decided to cancel the route permit of all the bus and micro-bus associations that did not provide their service on Friday. The government also arrested transportation entrepreneurs using the essential services act. RSS
