Digital tourist information centre set up in Beni

tourists-visiting-NepalMyagdi / May 11 : A digital tourist information centre has been established in Beni, the district headquarters of Myagdi, with the aim to provide important information about the district including religious and tourist destinations, agricultural production among others.

The information centre will provide details about old and new walking trails, share photos taken six decades ago of Myagdi district, and provide information and pictures that reflect the economic, social, cultural and political identity of the local population. The centre also makes available smart television and free internet.

The information centre — jointly operated by Beni Municipality, Nepal Tourism Board, and Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry — will provide a complete picture of Myagdi to help understand the district better, said the information centre coordinator Rajesh Shakya, also Vice President of Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“The information centre would help tourists visiting the district in various ways, and unlike in the past when they would face difficulties for lack of an information provider, they can now easily get information about tourist destinations they wish to visit,” said owner of Hotel Yak, Baburam Acharya.
