10 tons of garbage collected from Hanumante River

BHAKTAPUR: As much as 10 tons of garbage have been collected from local Hanumante River in the thirteenth week of the Hanumante cleanup campaign in the district. The clean up was conducted at Brahmayani area of Changunarayan today.

The Hanumante cleanup campaign member and former Minister for Industry, Mahesh Basnet, Mayor of Changunarayan Municipality, Som Prasad Mishra, and the people associated with various 28 organizations took part in the clean up.

Another member of the campaign Pushkar Gajurel informed that they collected 10 tons of garbage on Saturday.

The campaigners stressed that anyone throwing litters in the river should be published. Collective efforts were essential for sanitation.
The Hanumante River is polluted as the litters from the industrial area and human settlements are emptied into the river. RSS
