Easy and fast rescue for tourists demanded

Kathmandu, Aug 3: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) and the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) have demanded that rescue operation for tourists be made easier and faster.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday, TAAN President Nawaraj Dahal and NATTA President CN Pandey made this demand, referring to many incidents of death of tourists for want of timely rescue.

Prompt rescue operation is needed especially at a time when the government targets to bring in 2 million tourists by 2020, said Pandey. “This initiative will also help a positive message to the world about our treatment of tourists,” he said.

Both the tourism bodies have demanded that the government should make a policy so as to make rescue operation for tourist easier and faster. RSS
