Nepal lost against UAE by 78 run

Nepali cricket NedKathmandu / Aug 30: Nepal has lost their second match against UAE by 78 runs in ongoing Asia Cup qualifier match. Chasing the target of 255 runs set by the UAE, Nepal could not meet the target and made 176 runs losing all wicket in 48.5 over in the match played at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur.

Playing the second innings of the match, Subhash Khakurel scored highest 50 runs in 97 balls including two fours and one six. Likewise, Dipendra Airee scored 40 runs in 64 balls including two fours. Gyanendra Malla (4), captain Paras Khadka (16), Sagar Pun (3), Aarif Sheikh (3), Karan KC (0), Rohit Kumar Poudel (9) Sompal Kami (27)*, Basanta Regmi (12) and Sandeep Lamichhane (2) scored in the match.

Ahmed Raza took highest four wickets for the UAE team followed by Mohammed Naveed with three wickets, Amir Hayat with two wickets and Ashfaq Ahmed with a single wicket.

Earlier, Nepal had won the toss and elected to field first.

Ashfaq Ahmed (45), Chirag Suri (45), Rameez Shahzad (35), Rohan Mustafa (1), Muhammad Usman (13), Abdul Shakoor (10), Mohammad Naveed (0), Ahmed Raza (12) scored runs.

Adnan Mufti (57) and Amir Hayat (0) was not out in the match.

Sandip Lamichhane took four wickets while Sompal Kami and Basant Regmi each took two wickets for Nepal.

Nepal lost their first qualifying match against Oman on Wednesday.

Nepal will now face Malaysia in its third match on Saturday.
