Lawmakers demand to make Panta’s rape, murder investigation report public

Nepal ParliamentKathmandu / Sept 26: Lawmakers on Wednesday urged the government to be serious about the report submitted by a probe Committee formed to investigate into Nirmala Panta’s murder case.

Nirmala Panta, 13, of Kanchanpur district was raped and killed around two months ago.

During special hour in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Lawmaker Agni Prasad Sapkota said, ” Different incidents related to violence against women including rape, acid attack should be stopped. Moreover, the price hike on the eve of festivals needs to be contained.”

Demanding release of the report of the probe committee submitted to the government, Pushpa Bhusal said that the government should be serious to maintain peace and security as well as to stop VAW.

Likewise, Chanda Chaudhary demanded that the report on the incident of murder of Nirmala Pant submitted by the probe committee be made public through the parliament. RSS
