Free service center for old people in Bhaktapur

Senior citizens march in International Workers DayBhaktapur / Oct 1: A free service center for senior citizens has come into operation at Bhaktapur.

The center operated by the Gupteshwor Mahadev Temple Protection Committee was inaugurated today. The center has been established on the premises of Gupteshwor Mahadev Temple at Sirutar of Suryabinayak municipality-2 in Bhaktapur. The temple premises also cover some areas of Changathali of Lalitpur.

The older people can visit the temple at day time for get-together where they will be served tea and snacks and they can enjoy religious programmes and be given knowledge about meditation. The services will be free, according to service coordinator Bhai Krishna Shrestha.

A medical team from the Abhyudaya Health Service Center will be there thrice in a week to conduct health checkups for high blood pressure and diabetes for them. It is expected to cost Rs 40 thousands monthly to run the center and the commitments have been received from the locals to donate Rs 25 thousands monthly.RSS
