First Naulin JTI Junior Tennis Championship from October 9

TennisKathmandu / Oct 07: The First Naulin JTI Junior Tennis Championship is kicking off on October 9 at Naulin Sports Villa.

Organizing a press conference in the Capital on Sunday, the Naulin Sports Villa, which has been running International standard Tennis Court, informed that the event is being organized to promote talent of children. Organized in coordination with Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) and Nepal Tennis Association, winner of each categories will secure some points, which will help them to compete at the international level.

Addressing the press conference, Managing Director of the Villa Kishor Thapa informed that 83 players will participate in the five-day long event which will have participation in Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 categories for both boys and girls. A total of 136 matches will be organized at the Villa.

He further added that it is great pride for the villa to organize this type of event within one year from the opening of the villa and hoped that this event will be incorporated in the annual event of Nepal Tennis Association. The villa has three international tennis courts. Some members of the villa had already participated in the international tournament.

He also informed that the tournament was organized to prepare players for competing at the international level. On the occasion, Thapa also announced that the villa will provide 50 percent discount to sports journalists. The villa has been partnering with different enterprises for promoting tennis in the country.
