23rd Int’l Astronomy Olympiad honors Nepal with special award

Astronomers-Discover-Signals-from-First-Stars-in-Universe-777x427Kathmandu / Oct 14: Nepal has been honored with a special award in the 23rd Internal Astronomy Olympiad held in Sri Lanka from October 6 to 14.

Nepali national Bishal Baral received the award scoring excellent marks leaving the other participants behind.

Baral had achieved the sixth position in the 5th National Astronomy Olympiad held in Nepal.

A total of 13 students had been selected from the 5th National Astronomy Olympiad – 2018 that been held from February 17 to August 13, 2018 in various places including Biratnagar, Chitwan, Pokhara and Butwal.

What is National Astronomy Olympiad?

It is an early talent hunt educational competition. The best performer will be recommended for the international competition. Over 800 students have already taken part in the competition that began since 2014.
