Supreme leader Ganesh Man Singh’s birth anniversary marked
Kathmandu / Nov 10: The Ganesh Man Singh Foundation organized a programme at Shova Bhagawati here this morning, commemorating the 104th birth anniversary of commander of the 1990 democracy movement, Ganesh Man Singh.
Rich tributes were paid to the late leader who is also known as the ‘Iron Man’ of Nepali politics for his audacious struggle for overthrowing the Rana and the Panchayat dictatorships.
Addressing the programme, Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh said the late leader Singh has played a significant role in the democracy movement of Nepal. He recalled his father, the late leader Singh, as a dedicated democracy fighter steadfast in his principles.
Commenting on the present state of affairs in the Nepali Congress, leader Singh said the party president was not functioning as per the party statute. He accused the party president of flouting the party’s constitution, adding that he would continue his struggle for reforming the party.
Party’s central committee member Dila Sangraula, party’s Kathmandu district committee president Sabuj Baniya, lawmakers from the party and presidents and office-bearers of the party various sister organizations were present on the occasion.
Born on Kattik 24, 1972 BS, leader Ganesh Man Singh had died on Asoj 2, 2054 BS. He was jailed for long time by the then regimes for his involvement in the movement for establishing democracy in the country. RSS
