Chyasal, MMC secure victories
Kathmandu / Nov 22: Chyasal Youth Club hammered New Road Team 5-1 and Manang Marshyangdi Club edged Three Star Club 2-1 during their Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League on Thursday.
Chyasal’s Amir Shrestha and Bimal Gharti Magar scored two goals each and veteran striker Santosh Saukhala notch a goal at Satdobato-based Anfa complex ground.
NRT’s Moshood scored a consolation goal in the late minute of the game. Chyasal’s Bimal Gharti Magar was declared man of the match for his overall performance and bagged Rs 10,000.
In other game of the day, Manang Marshyangdi Club’s Anjan Bista broke the deadlock as early on the 10th minute of the game. After seven minutes, MMC doubled their lead as TSC goalie’s clearance ricocheted off MMC’s striker and looped over into an unguarded net.
TSC pulled a goal back as Ranjit Dhimal scored from the penalty spot in the 84th minute sending the goalie wrong way.TSC pressed hard to find an equaliser but MMC rearguard stood tall to secure all-important three points from their arch-rival.
After defeating title contender TSC, MMC top the 14-team table with nine points from three games.
