Nepal gears up for World Robotics Competition
Kathmandu / Nov 23: Nepal is preparing to contest in the International Robotics Competition well known as the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) to be held in Hungary next year.
It is the second time Nepal is marking its participation in the competition through STEM Foundation Nepal. World Robot Olympiad Nepal is an authorized event that scouts talents in robotics from various parts of the country and breeds them into a professional in robotics.
According to STEM Foundation Nepal President Surgeon BC, they have imparted robotics training across 40 districts in the country. The best robotics student will get to represent Nepal to the WRO.
WRO Association has been conducting global competitions since 2004 in different countries where robot enthusiast students studying in the primary level to Bachelors level demonstrate their robotics skills and vie.
The next WRO will be held from November 8-10 with over 3,000 participants from 65 countries will compete in four age groups below 19 in the categories of maths, sciences, technology and IT.
“Nepal has adequate time to prepare for the WRO for the next year. We are giving our best to make a mark in the WRO,” shared President BC.
Nepal had obtained membership from WRO Association last year. RSS
