NTB allocates Rs 1.7 billion for FY 2075/76

NTBKathmandu / Nov 30: Around four months after the commencement of the fiscal year 2075/76, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has allocated around Rs 1.7 billion budget for the FY. The budget was approved by the Board of Directors of the NTB.

The budget has targeted the ‘Visit Nepal Year 2020’ and prioritized tourism management and promotion, public relation, and publicity. Of the budget, Rs 373 million has been allotted to promote tourism, Rs 325 million for publicity, and Rs 243 million for tourism heritage and resources development.

Likewise, Rs 766 million has been set aside for the management of the NTB’s Pokhara office, said Santosh Panta, director for the Corporate Service Department of the NTB.

The delay in bringing the budget has affected administrative and various promotional programmes.

An internal dispute and Ministry of Tourism delaying to approve the budget is to blame for the delay, said Dipak Mahat, member of the Board of Directors of the NTB. RSS
