IT competition among visually impaired people concludes

blind-coupleKathmandu / Jan 6: An information technology competition among blind people concluded here today. A total of 41 persons with visual impairment participated in the competition, said the organizer Ujjwal Nakshatra Samaj.

The participants had competed in using a computer, laptop and mobile phones. Somraj KC of Palpa won the competition, while Gautam Pokharel was the first runner up. Likewise, Aashish Khatiwada became the second runner up while Rabindra Mahato of Salyan the third runner up.

The winner received a laptop while the first runner up got a desktop computer. Likewise, the second runner up got a mobile phone and the third runner up a scanner. Former Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Ramesh Kharel and Dr Birendra Raj Pokharel jointly distributed the awards amid a programme organised on Saturday coinciding with the 210th Louis Braille Day.
