Nepathya performs in Phidim, stands for Dr KC

NepathyaPhidim / Jan 18: Not in its customary fashion, Nepathya, started the Phidim concert in a different note, lead singer Amrit Gurung remembered lyrics of Ramesh and Manjul written during insurgency before asking the audience ‘I am with Dr KC’ are you’?

In reply, the audiences affirmed, and Amrit Gurung again raised the question of why time and again the government has failed to honour agreements with Dr KC?

With this emotional message, Nepathya, captivated the house full audience at the Phidim Secondary School ground with its hit number– Gaun Gaun Bata Utha.

Earlier, Amrit Gurung, along with the band en route to Phidim, had a detour to Ilam to meet agitating Dr KC at the District Hospital to express his solidarity.

“During insurgency, we were forbade to speak against injustice and anarchy, and now, we are scared to speak in favour of Dr KC,” Amirt Gurung said, “That is why I remember Ramesh and Manjul.”

“Phidim had seen the dark side of insurgency fifteen years back when I had arrived here through a rough terrain. However, Phidim has transformed into a town now. I am glad to meet with you all and thankful to those for making this possible,” Amrit Gurung shared.

On this note, Gurung sang their another hit number–Jogale Huncha Bhet, Maya Le Huncha Samjhana.

Music enthusiasts from nearby districts of Ilam, Tehrathum and Taplejung also thronged to Phidim to witness Nepal’s premier folk-rock band’s debut performance in Panchthar.

As the show went on, Nepathya played their hit numbers like–‘Chekyo Chekyo‘ ‘Jomsome Bazaar‘ ‘Chari Maryo’ ‘Resham‘ and ‘Yo Jindagani‘as audience sang and danced along.

As usual, Amrit urged the audience, in the midst of the concert to not miss an opportunity to travel across our own diversified nation.

Amirt Gurung was supported by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar and Shanti Rayamajhi on madals.
