361 women rescued from Kapilvastu’s Krishnanagar border

Birgunj border opensRupandehi / Jan 23: KI Nepal, Kapilvastu — an organisation working against human trafficking and gender-based violence — has rescued 361 women from border checkpoint of Krishnanagar in Kapilvastu district during the period of three years.

Launching the three-year report, the organisation shared that it had reviewed 12,467 people at the border checkpoint during the period.

As many as 226 women were provided with emergency safe shelter services, informed Keshar Biswokarma, district coordinator of the organisation. “Some 30 women have been kept at a safe shelter in Chitwan after their rescue”, he shared.

According to KI Nepal, Kapilvastu branch office, mostly, women trafficked in the period were found to be in the age group of 15-25. RSS
