Finance Minister stresses on quality increase in revenue

Bharatpur / Apr 15: Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada has directed revenue employees for a quality increase in revenue by expanding the scope of taxation.

During his visit today to the Inland Revenue Office, Bharatpur, he directed the office employees to focus on quality growth in revenue. He also instructed for the full enforcement of Finance Act-2075 BS. The Act has provisions for tax discounts in certain conditions.

The employees have been asked to give their feedback if they felt the necessity of improvement in the existing tax system and work promptly, said Office chief Shuba Prasad Rijal quoting the minister. Similarly, revenue secretary Lal Shanker Ghimire sought effective market monitoring. A total of 51,000 taxpayers are associated with the Inland Revenue Office. In the current fiscal year, it has set a target of collecting Rs 30 billion in revenue and has already collected Rs 20 billion. RSS
