Stress on advancement of Sanskrit Education

Kathmandu / June 15: The Sanskrit Universities of Nepal and India are to work jointly for the advancement of the eastern philosophy and Sanskrit education.

An agreement was reached between a team of the Sampurnanda Sanskrit University and Kashi Hindu University and the Nepal Sanskrit University at the Balmiki Bidhyapeeth on Friday. The eight member team from India is led by Prof Dr Hari Prasad Adhikari.

The team was welcomed in Nepal by Director of Nepal Sanskrit University Research Centre Dr Kashi Nath Neupane and Prof Dr Ganesh Prasad Ghimire of Balmiki Vidhapeeth.

During the deliberations, it was agreed for a team from Nepal to go to India for publicity and research of Sanskrit language, according to reader at the Vidhayapeeth Dr Prem Raj Neupane.

Earlier, in the Sanskrit conference organised by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre last March, a declaration had been issued with a statement to carry out exchange of experiences between the universities and professors of the two countries to uplift Sanskrit language and eastern philosophy.
