TIA resumes operations for 21 hours after renovation

Kathmandu / July 1: Tribhuvan International Airport, the country’s sole international airport has resumed its 21-hour operation on Monday.
Citing the rehabilitation works, the airport was functional for only 10 hours up to the end of June. TIA operated from 8 am to 10 pm then. The runway rehabilitation works by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had started on April 1.
Chinese company China National Aero-Technology Engineering Corporation took the responsibility of the airport’s runway rehabilitation program. About Rs 3.75 billion was allocated for the project.
