FM Gyawali meets with Chinese counterpart Wang in Beijing

Kathmandu / July 3: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, who is currently on a week-long visit to China, held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged substantive views on ways of further strengthening bilateral ties and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries, according to a press statement issued by Nepal Embassy in Beijing. On the occasion, the two sides agreed to consolidate their age-old bilateral ties through the exchange of high-level visits on a regular basis.

Later in the evening, Gyawali interacted with Nepali scholars based in Beijing at a program held at the embassy.

On the occasion, the minister spoke on the government’s policy of engaging the Nepali diasporas for the country’s all-round development. He also shared that the government has established the ‘Brain Gain Center’ to utilize the expertise gained by Nepali diasporas.

The minister urged the Nepali Diaspora to contribute to the noble task of nation-building by utilizing their talents in their respective fields. Around 30 Beijing-based Nepali scholars attended the program and shared a brief introduction of their research works in China. In the evening, Gyawali attended a reception at the embassy.
