Country may witness regime change if govt fails to live up to people’s expectations, says Dahal
Kathmandu/ August 23: Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday claimed that the country may witness a regime change if the current government fails to live up to the people’s expectations.
Addressing a program in Lalitpur, Chairman Dahal warned that the achievements made through various political struggles will be at risk if the political actors fail to deliver on their promises.
“It would not take long time for the regime change if the communist leaders did not change their mindset and working style. So, let’s not deviate from our fundamental political ideologies and spirit of the communism,” he said.
While taking reference to the history of East Europe and the then Soviet Union, the chairperson urged all the leaders from his party not to forget the fundamental principles and ideologies of the communist party.
“It is a matter of concern that some communist leaders are acting like the former monarchs. People might be forced to seek our alternatives if we failed to live up to the people’s expectations,” he said.
Dahal also came down heavily against his party members for making statements without thinking of the consequences. “Our leaders and cadres lack discipline and it has become a huge concern in the wake of our party unification process,” he said.
