CAN election rescheduled for September

Kathmandu / Sept 16: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is conducting its central election on September 27 and 28.

CAN meeting attended by International Cricket Council (ICC) representatives Imran Khwaja and Amar Sheikh, National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal and Independent Committee’s legal advisor Rajeshwor Shrestha agreed to pick the new date for CAN election.

Prior this, the Independent Committee had fixed the polls for September 20-21 following the completion of the district and provincial elections.

According to NSC member-secretary Silwal, the meeting agreed on the new election schedule, discussing the ways for making it free and fair. He also hoped that the ban on CAN would be lifted in the next (ICC) meeting.

Similarly, ICC representative Imran Khwaja said disputes existing in the Nepali cricket were near to resolution. He vowed to take initiations for lifting the ban in the ICC upcoming meeting. tember 27-28
