Govt to safeguard hard-won democracy at any cost, says PM Oli

Kathmandu / Sept 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday said that the government will work to safeguard hard-won federal republic democracy at any cost.

Addressing the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Federal Parliament building on the Singha Durbar premises, PM Oli reiterated that government will firmly stand against anti-democratic elements claiming that those elements have made their efforts to deteriorate the democratic sphere.

“The government is all committed to safeguarding all the political achievements gained after the sacrifice of the people,” PM added.

On a different note, he said that the government has taken all the criticisms made against it regarding its ‘work performance although it took rein a year and a half ago‘ seriously and committed to expediting the activities in the days ahead.

On the occasion, he instructed one and all to be sincere toward their duties and obligations as ‘zero-tolerance against corruption’ campaign is not merely lip service.

Instructing the Minister for Urban Development Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai to complete the building of Federal Parliament within three years, as targeted, and not to add more budget in unnecessary titles. “I’m literally not satisfied at the delay in the construction sector, however, will not be excused,” grumbled PM.

Indicating the activities of outlawed Chanda group, PM Oli termed them as purely violent anarchic acts.
