Nepathya releases music video for ‘Sirma Pachauri’
Kathmandu / Nov 03: Nepal’s famous rock-folk band, Nepathya, has released a music video for ‘Sirma Ribbon Saalko Pachauri’, on Sunday.
The song which expresses suffering of a woman in Lamjung district is the latest composition by the band. “I have heard this kind of tune from my mother while I was growing up in Pokhara,” social activist and legendary singer Amrit Gurung added.
“I still remember my mother humming this Lamjung rhythm. I was touched by the tune after hearing a song from one female singer when I visited Pasgaun in Lamjung, after many years” Nepathya lead singer Amrit Gurung recalls his memories.

There is a popular saying that lok-geet changes as it travels through hills, villages and plains during its journey, Amrit Gurung shared.
The song was recorded at Nepalaya’s ‘R’ sala in Kalikastan, Kathmandu, in a single take and released in band’s official youtube channel: www.youtube.com/nepathyaofficial.
