Nepal committed to increase access of backward communities to justice
Kathmandu / Nov 5:Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanubhakta Dhakal has reiterated the government’s commitment to increase the access of the poor citizens, marginalized sections and backward communities to justice.
Delivering a statement in the high-level session on ‘Justice Reform Sector and Technology’ organized by the World Bank Group in US capital, Washington DC, today, Minister Dhakal spoke on the use of information technology in justice delivery, Nepal’s status in this and challenges.
According to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Law and Justice Minister on the occasion stated that Nepal was willing to cooperate with the World Bank for the optimal use of information technology as well as for the development of related infrastructure and human resources in the judiciary.
The law ministers, the chief justices and justices of the Supreme Courts, attorney generals and high-ranking officials of the justice sector from 25 countries are participating in the high-level meeting being held under the four-day ‘Law, Justice and Development Week’.
