Nepalis Themselves Will Make Nepal Prosperous: PM Oli

Kavre, Nov 22: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Friday that Nepal would be made modern, developed and prosperous within short time.

Also the Chancellor of the Kathmandu University (KU), PM Oli further said that Nepal would be made prosperous by the Nepalis themselves.

Addressing the 25th convocation of the KU here, PM Oli reiterated, “We have successful present and bright future. So, we can move ahead in an assured manner.” He further said Nepal has the capacity to produce many things. He however said, “We lagged behind for some reason, but we cannot stay as it is forever.”

The PM argued that lack of education was one of the pressing problems behind backwardness. Government is now for quality education.

He expressed happiness over the girl students comprising 54 percent among those completing graduation.

He went on to claim that Nepal’s medical human resources is of global standard. Such issue, as he said, would help reduce girl children’s school dropout.

“It is a matter of happiness that women’s presence is growing for human resource production.” PM Oli urged the new generation to move forward confidently.

Meanwhile, Chief of the Manipal University, India, Dr K Ram Narayan, said that a notable achievement was seen in the medical sector which is going on in collaboration with KU.

He said that they were moving ahead with friendship which was the matter of pleasure to them was as well.

Similarly, KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ram Kantha Makaju pointing out the need of making education sector abreast with time, ensuring skill and high quality.

He noted that there were both the opportunity and challenge in the education sector in the country.

On the occasion, Bibek Poudel, an MBBS graduate was honoured with VC Award. A total of 1,604 medical students attended the convocation, and of them, 246 students were from India, Bhutan, Sri-Lanka, Maldives, USA and Belgium. RSS
