Amid coronavirus outbreak, government temporarily suspended issuing labour permit

Kathmandu / Mar. 3: The government has suspended issuing labour permit for foreign employment for the time being.

It is said the government took this decision as the coronavirus (COVID19) which broke out from China has spread globally.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rameshwor Raya Yadav said that the government has stopped issuing labour permits for now. He added that Nepali workers will not be allowed to fly to countries which are at risk of COVID19 infection.

“The government has urged one and all not to travel abroad except for emergency purposes and the Supreme Court has also ordered the suspension of flights to the coronavirus affected countries. Therefore, we have suspended issuing labour permit for the time being,” he said, adding that issuing labour permits will resume once the coronavirus terror subsides.

The government announced that it will not issue any No Objection Letter (NOC) to the students going for abroad studies. RSS
