National COVID-19 tally hits 2,912 with 278 new cases
Kathmandu, June 5: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 278 new cases of COVID-19 today.
As many as 278 people including 267 males and 11 females tested positive for the virus, informed Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson of the ministry, in the daily press briefing today.
The virus infection was detected in 278 persons from Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Argakhachi, Nawalparasi, Palpa, Rupandehi, Sindhuli, Bara, Tanahun, Bhojpur, Kailali, Achham, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, Ramechhap, Kavre, Dailekh, Jumla, Surkhet, Dang, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Kapilvastu and Mahottari districts tested COVID-19 positive in PCR test done at various hospitals and laboratories in different parts of the country.
Likewise, the virus has now spread in 68 out of 77 districts.
Meanwhile, 43 COVID-19 patients of Jhapa, Dhankuta, Khotang, Udayapur, Morang, Saptari, Banke and Sunsari have been discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus infection.
With this, national COVID-19 tally has reached 2,912 including 333 cases of recovery and 11 death cases.
