535 new COVID-19 cases confirmed; tally jumps to 9,561; 370 Recovered

Kathmandu / June 22: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 535 new cases of COVID-19 today.

As many as 535 persons, 461 males and 74 females, were detected with SARS-CoV-2 infection in the last 24 hours, informed Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

The new cases were detected in Morang, Saptari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Achham, Arghakhanchi, Baitadi, Doti, Gulmi, Jajarkot, Kailali, Nawalparasi, Sarlahi, Sindhupalchowk, Siraha, Syangja, Palpa, Pyuthan, Rautahat, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (East), Okhaldhunga, Tanahun, Palpa, Rupandehi and Dang.

The virus has now spread in all districts of Nepal except for Rasuwa.

Meanwhile, 370 COVID-19 patients, 338 males and 32 females, receiving treatment at COVID-19 Special Hospital, Dang, Surkhet State Hospital, Kalikot Hospital, Dullu Hospital, Dailekh, Salyan Hospital, Narayani Hospital, Dhading Hospital, have been discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus, said Dr Gautam.

With this, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 9,561, including 2,142 cases of recovery and 23 death cases.
