COVID-19 update: 147 new cases, 156 recovery in 24 hours
Kathmandu / July 23: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 147 new cases of COVID-19 today.
In the 3,481 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 147 persons were found with the virus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
The new cases were detected in Dhankuta, Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Siraha, Saptari, Parsa, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Parbat, Mahottari, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat, Rupandehi, Pyuthan, Nawalparasi, Surkhet, Salyan, Dailekh, Dadeldhura, Doti, Kailali, Bajhang and Kanchanpur.
Of the infected, five are from Kathmandu and two each are from Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
Meanwhile, 156 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in various health facilities across the nation were discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus infection. The recovery rate now stands at 70. 39.
Currently, there are 5,358 active cases of COVID-19 and 20,098 are in quarantine.
With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 18,241 including 12,840 cases of recovery and 43 death cases.
