85 percent beneficiaries receive second installment

Kathmandu / July 28 : For the reconstruction of the private houses demolished after the Gorkha Earthquake, almost 85 per cent have received the amount of second installment till the end of the fiscal year 2076/77 BS.

Of the recipient of second installment, 76 per cent received the amount of third installment, according to the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).

The NRA, however, said that 99 per cent of the total beneficiaries collected the amount of first installment for the building of their quake-hit houses.

Similarly, 74 per cent of the quake-hit schools were built in the aftermath of the Gorkha Earthquake.

The NRA further said that 118,329 houses of 728,243 beneficiaries were completed in the 14 most affected districts. The officials at the NRA shared that Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Dolakha and Nuwakot districts have witnessed comparatively good progress in reconstruction compared to other districts.

Information Officer of NRA Manohar Ghimire shared that the targeted progress is not likely in the given deadline due to Covid-19 created lockdown and other reasons.
