COVID-19 update: caseload climbs to 22,592 with 378 new cases
Kathmandu / Aug. 8: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) confirmed 378 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
In 7,788 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 378 persons were found with the virus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing.
The new cases were detected in Mahottari, Sunsari, Morang, Saptari, Dhanusa, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Rautahat, Sindhuli, Kavre, Ramechhap, Dhading, Lalitpur, Dolakha, Nuwakot, Bhaktapur , Kanchanpur, Baglung, Kaski, Myagdi, Syangja, Banke, Rukum (West), Bardiya, Surkhet, Jajarkot, Bajhang, Kailali, Kanchanpur.
Meanwhile, 499 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in various health facilities across the nation were discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus infection.
Currently, there are 6,206 active cases of COVID-19 and 10,792 are in quarantine.
With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 22,592 including 16,313 cases of recovery and 73 death cases.
